AFINNET was founded by the Rt. Rev. Dr. George Sinabulya, former Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Central Buganda, and his wife Edith, in 2000. AFINNET serves the poor of rural communities in the Mpigi, Mubende, Mityana, Kiboga districts of Uganda. Its headquaters is in Namukozi village, a rural suburb in Mityana District two kilometers from Mityana town. AFINNET was founded by the Rt. Rev. Dr. George Sinabulya, former Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Central Buganda, and his wife Edith, in 2000. It has been a registered Christian Development Agency since 2002. AFINNET seeks to uplift communities by engaging illiteracy, poverty and diseases at the household level. We support a wide range of community-based initiatives. We give grants to grass root groups, work in close cooperation with local civic leaders, and partner with other agencies to develop cost-effective programs that target specific needs.
