The Alberta Emerald Foundation was founded in 1991 through a partnership of McLennan Ross LLP, Deloitte & Touche Chartered Accountants and Alberta Environment. It has since come to be represented by a diverse group of individuals and organizations working to bring together government, private industry, non-government organizations and individuals. Through the nominations process for the Emerald Awards, the Alberta Emerald Foundation has accumulated a rich database of over 1,700 positive environmental stories. The Foundation knows that sharing these success stories will change behaviour and encourage others to participate, thus helping ensure all Albertans benefit from a healthier, environmentally secure future. |
