VALENTINE: Charity events
14/02/2012 by Alan Cole in the UK

Lots of Valentine fundraising events to choose from

Roses are red, violets are blue, and we think you will agree there's a charity fundraising event for you...

For Valentine's Day there are an unprecedented amount of charity fundraising events to choose from this year. There must be a charity event out there for you somewhere in your local area this week…

So why not get out and about and have some fun and support a local good cause or even an event supporting a national or international charity?

One of the more unusual has to be the Christian Aid fundraiser in Exeter at St Thomas the Apostle Church… To raise funds for Christian Aid's anti-poverty campaigns you can abseil 80ft down this large historic church!

Fundraisers are invited to take on the challenge solo or with their partner, either way really get the pulses racing by soaring down this amazing sandstone building… This could be the perfect opportunity on February 14 to show your partner your romantic qualities!

Other events around the country include a Valentines charity ball in Bristol at the Radisson Blu Hotel on Friday February 17 in aid of St Peter's Hospice and the African-Caribbean Leukaemia Trust, featuring music from the Substitute Supremes.

On February 14 the Rotherham Hospital Charity Valentine's Day cake day in the Rooftop Restaurant offers tasty treats in aid of charity...

There's also a Valentine's Day fundraiser at the Groundlings Theatre in Portsea supporting the tropical storm Washi appeal. The event Love Mindano on February 14 features music and arts from the Portsmouth and Southsea area.

For those seeking humour in the Brighton area to warm you up this Valentine's Day, the Charity Chuckle event featuring Rich Perry, Lee Hume and others on February 14 at the Latest Music Bar is raising money for SPIN, the Single Parent Information Network.

Valentine fundraisers offer a perfect opportunity for charities to raise funds each year especially with themed, novelty events as well as selling distinctive goods... as well as auctions, novelty items, raffles and more...

There's still time to enjoy a Valentine's Day event this week for charity or even host your own Valentine's event if you want to raise funds for your local charity... Why not get creative and come up with a Valentine's charity event with a difference?
